Q - How does this work? What should I expect?

A -
When you order online through this website, all payment information is handled by PayPal. We never see your credit card or checking account information. If you have a PayPal account, be sure your profile is up to date. We will communicate through email about your order to the email address provided to us by PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will be asked if you want to open one, but it is not necessary to open a PayPal account to order from us.

Once we physically receive your order (during normal business hours), we will send an e-mail acknowledging receipt and notifying you of any stock situations which will affect your order. Over 95% of all orders are shipped the same day. (Mon-Fri)

When your order has been packed and picked up by UPS late in the day, you will receive another e-mail - this one from 'Quantum View' - UPS' tracking service. If you didn't receive the initial acknowledgement e-mail, you won't receive this either.

 
Q - Do you ship overseas?

A - Yes, we ship World-Wide! To cover our costs and protect ourselves, these conditions must be met:

  1. All overseas shipments will be sent by USPS Express Mail, which is paid for by the buyer. After placing your order, we will contact you with the additional costs of shipping your order which must be paid before we release it. To estimate these costs, here are some examples: 1. A 4-pound Eastwood Poncho shipped to London will cost around US$38.00, plus the cost of the poncho, plus any duties, etc on the receiving end. 2. A Charro Sombrero (big box) shipped to Germany will cost over US$46.00 just for shipping. 3. Two ponchos shipped to Australia cost $54.
  2. The buyer is responsible for all foreign duties, taxes and tariffs, if any.
  3. Foreign buyers must provide a telephone number for inclusion on the Customs and delivery forms.
  4. We will ship overseas at the buyer's risk and consequence. We have had great success (100%!) when these conditions are met. We will provide USPS Tracking info which the buyer can follow through the US Postal System to the port of entry in their own country. There is no way to track packages through USPS after that.

Our shipping costs are actual costs plus a small amount for boxes, packing, etc. Note that certain items are forbidden to import to certain countries. (No straw hats to Ireland, for example.) Check your local regulations before ordering please. We do not ship our replica firearms outside the U.S. All foreign purchases are done through PayPal only.

Stateside, we ship UPS Ground except in extreme cases to save you money. We will ship UPS 2nd Day Air at your request and expense. After ordering, send us an e-mail with your request to expedite shipment and we will reply with an invoice for the additional expense, or call us with your VISA/MC during normal business hours.

We do not suggest overnight shipping as the costs often exceed the value of the goods being ordered.

Expect an e-mail from Quantum View - UPS' tracking service - with your tracking number and estimated date of delivery.

How long will my order take?

A - Most orders received by 2:00 p.m. MST are shipped the same day from our Colorado location. For delivery times from our Colorado location via UPS Ground Service, click here. Occasionally, items will be drop-shipped directly from our suppliers to save you time and shipping costs. This is especially true of high-quantity orders that exceed our typical stock levels. On multiple item orders, you may receive a partial shipment because of our current stock status. We always do our very best to get your order to you quickly. Orders placed by U.S. Mail and paid by check will take additional time. Use PayPal to get your items right away, or call us toll-free in the U.S. to order with VISA/MC.
 
 
Q - What's your return policy?

A -
You may return any unused purchase, complete with tags and original packing for replacement or exchange within 10 days at your expense. Special Purchases excepted. If your package arrives with visible damage, you can refuse it immediately. We can not refund shipping expenses, including duties, tariffs and foreign taxes. Please note, we are very wary of returns around Halloween, New Year's and Cinco de Mayo. We carefully inspect each item returned for evidence that it was worn. This is for your benefit as a buyer. Please call first to obtain a Return Authorization. Sombreros and other hats can not be returned for health reasons. Music CDs can not be returned once the outer wrapping has been opened. We will not accept returns of any ponchos or sombreros from October 29th thru November 10th.


Q -
I received a different item than I ordered?

A - We do our best to ship what you ordered. Due to the uniqueness of handmade items, yours may look different than the photo on the website. We occasionally will ship a substitute item of equal or greater value for our customers with a short deadline for a special event. If the substitute is not acceptable, kindly return it to us for exchange of the item originally ordered when it is available. Most likely, you'll want to keep the more expensive substitute.

 
Q - Is there a minimum order?

A -
No, but shipping costs are proportionately higher for orders under $25.00. Most orders are sent by UPS Ground Service.
Up to $40 is $8.50 (21%), up to $90 is $12.50 (14%), up to $150 is $16.50 (11%), etc.
 

Q - Do you protect my personal information?

Q - Do you sell wholesale?

A -
No. We do, however, offer 'party pack' pricing for larger quantities. Remember, we already sell at discount prices.

 
Q - Do I have to order through PayPal?

A -
No, not at all. We prefer PayPal for the quickest, most reliable and economical payment processing, but you can order with Visa/MasterCard by telephone, or send us a check or money order through snail mail. A link to our order form is on the main page. Please note that you do not need a PayPal account to order from us or to pay through PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will be given the option of starting one when you complete your purchase, but it is not necessary. Foreign buyers must go through PayPal.

We do not accept phone orders from outside the U.S. Please note that ordering online will be processed through the PayPal Shopping Cart and your account will be debited immediately.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH PAYPAL, PLEASE VERIFY YOUR EMAIL AND MAILING ADDRESS ARE CORRECT! WE SHIP TO THE ADDRESS PROVIDED BY PAYPAL. WE E-MAIL ORDER CONFIRMATIONS AND TRACKING INFO TO THE EMAIL PROVIDED BY PAYPAL. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY PAYPAL IS THE ONLY CONTACT INFO WE HAVE.

 
Q - My blanket (or rug or poncho) isn't the same size as stated?

A -
We publish the manufacturer's described sizes. Some textiles will shrink or expand after weaving, shipping and storing. We also recommend dry cleaning all textiles.

 
Q - What hat size are the sombreros?

A -
Unlike American hat sizing, most sombreros are made with a tapered crown which will fit most adults. Some will wear them higher, some lower, but they fit most everyone up to size 7-1/2. A few of our high-end palm sombreros are made by head size and you can order the same as American hats. Make most hats smaller by adding some tissue under the sweatband.
